To inspire people reading a book is my mission in the life.
So that, it is time for me to publish my short book reviews on Instagram to my own personal blog to record my book of the week one month previously.
For this edition, I wanna compile my book of the week during January 2017.
I just wanna show you that reading a book is a need, not a hobby!
Happy reading, folks!
DAVID AND GOLIATH: Ketika si Lemah Menang Melawan Raksasa by Malcolm Gladwell (Gramedia Pustaka Utama, 2013).
"Just because you are nobody, doesn't mean you can't conquer somebody!"
That is one of the message from the book. Gladwell explains in the book how to see the strength proportionally. Because, occasionally a power is the source of disaster not a triumph.
There is a bliss in each single weakness. There is a hope in each single difficulty. There is an opportunity to win in each single tough competition.
Just grab the book to unlock your real deepest potency!
PLATFORM REVOLUTION: How Networked Markets Are Transforming The Economy --- And How To Make Them Work For You by Geoffrey G. Parker, Marshall W. Van Alstyne, and Sangeet Paul Choudary (Norton, 2016).
The most powerful book to comprehend platform based business such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Uber, Airbnb, Alibaba, eBay, Facebook, Instagram, and dozens more.
With more than 300 pages, the thick book is easy to learn with clear explanation.
The book reveals why were some internet-based business (well known by "startup") successful while others were not.
After reading the book you will understand that:
UBER, the world's largest taxi company, owns no vehicles.
FACEBOOK, the world's most popular media owner, creates no content.
ALIBABA, the most valuable retailer, has no inventory.
AIRBNB, the world's largest accommodation provider, owns no real estate.
This is the power of platform based business!
A must read for those who wanna shift the business!
BECOME A BETTER YOU: 7 Keys to Improving Your Life Every Day by Joel Osteen (Running Press, 2010).
There are 7 keys to change your life better every day and one of my cup of tea is: "Keep pressing forward".
I could not agree more with Osteen statement at page 8 that too many people settle for mediocrity in their thoughts, attitudes, or actions.
Most of us being satisfied simply with past successes, instead of keep hustling to reach for new heights in our abilities, our spiritual walk, our career, and dozens more.
"Good enough" is enemy of our mind. Never let good enough be good enough! Explore our deep potency to explode the ultimate part of us!
Dude, we have seeds of greatness in us. We were not made to be stagnant. Rise out of complacency. Keep growing and keep reaching for new heights.
But, I realize that becoming better you is all about growing, learning, and improving. Poorly, most of are still reluctant to declare war on our comfort zone!
And you know what that to grow, learn, and improve our life talks about leaving our comfort zone....
Are you the one? :)
